Paul Wight In-Ring AEW Debut Announced

Paul Wight’s first match for AEW has been announced. Wight will face QT Marshall at All Out on Sunday September 5th. The announcement was made on the August 18th edition of Dynamite.

Wight announced that he had a match following a talk with Tony Khan, and it would be against QT Marshall. This followed on from Marshall’s promo, where The Factory member mocked Wight by showing images of his many surgeries on the big screen.

This will be the first match for the giant in over a year. The last time that Paul Wight stepped in the ring was for WWE back in 2020. The former Big Show faced Randy Orton in a losing effort.

This will not be the first time that the former WWE Champion has gotten physical in AEW. On the August 11th episode of Dynamite, Wight came to the aid of Tony Schiavone and his son Chris. Marshall threatened and punched Chris, brining out Paul Wight for the save. Wight hit Aaron Solow with a chokeslam to close the segment.

The AEW Dark Elevation announcer signed for AEW back in February 2021 and will be fighting on the AEW All Out card along with an AEW World Championship match and more.
