NXT have announced the next date for their TakeOver network special. Currently titled NXT TakeOver 36, the event will take place on Sunday August 22nd. The announcement was made on WWE.com and on NXT’s social media:
Currently, no venue has been confirmed for the event. It remains to be seen whether TakeOver will be held inside the Capitol Wrestling Center or will be hosted at an arena.
This announcement also means that TakeOver 36 will be taking place on the same weekend as SummerSlam. However, the ordering of events is the reverse as to what has been held traditionally. In previous years, NXT TakeOver events have been held in the same city as WWE big 4 pay per views and on the day before. This time, SummerSlam will be held on Saturday August 21st and TakeOver 36 will be held on Sunday August 22nd.
