Goldberg made his return to WWE on the July 19th edition of Monday Night RAW. The WWE Hall of Famer came face to face with Bobby Lashley, seemingly setting up the next challenge for the WWE Champion.
Bobby Lashley was in the ring following his retention against Kofi Kingston at Money in the Bank. From this, Lashley announced an open challenge for anyone in the back to take on ‘The Almighty.’ The challenge was answered by a returning Keith Lee. Following a competitive match, the WWE champion was victorious over the returning Lee. This was the first appearance of The Limitless One since February 2021.
Following the victory, Lashley celebrated in the ring when the familiar drums hit. Goldberg then made his way down to the ring and said two words to Bobby Lashley:
Goldberg was last seen on WWE programming at the Royal Rumble in January. In this appearance, Goldberg faced then WWE Champion Drew McIntyre for the tile. McIntyre retained in this match.
While no matches have been formally announced for SummerSlam, both men’s world title matches look to be set. This confrontation will surely lead to a WWE Championship match between Lashley and Goldberg in August. Also on the show, John Cena made the challenge to Roman Reigns for his Universal Championship.
