Piper Niven has been renamed following her debut on the June 14th episode of Monday Night RAW. Niven will be going by the name Doudrop moving forward. This news was originally announced by Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful as part of their premium service Fightful Select. Sapp was originally sceptical, as was shown in the following tweet:
As a result of the June 21st episode of RAW, this name has now been officially given to the former NXT UK star. It should be noted that on Doudrop’s debut, the RAW announce team had no idea who Doudrop was. Instead, they referred to her as simply ‘the mystery woman.’ Eva’s protégé did not seem pleased with the new name.
The former Piper Niven made her main roster debut on the Hell in a Cell go-home episode of RAW. Doudrop debuted alongside a returning Eva Marie. Originally the plan was for Marie’s returning match to be against Naomi. However, Doudrop stormed to the ring and quickly squashed Naomi. After the bell, Eva Marie declared herself the winner of the match.
This week saw the new pair not on the same page. Eva Marie and Doudrop took part in a tag team match in an attempt to qualify for the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Their opponents were the team of Naomi and Asuka. However, as a result of tags being refused, Naomi and Asuka were instead victorious, and will advance to the pay per view.
There appears to be tension between the new team already. It will be interesting to see in future episodes of RAW if this tension will be forgotten about or if the former team will feud with each other moving forward.
