Piper Niven made her main roster debut on the most recent episode of Monday Night RAW. Piper appeared on RAW alongside the returning Eva Marie, as part of Marie’s return.
That match was originally scheduled to be Naomi vs. Eva Marie as part of Eva’s return to WWE. Instead, Niven appeared alongside Marie during the entrance and rushed to the ring. The former NXT UK star quickly squashed Naomi to win the match. After the bell had been rung, Eva grabbed a microphone and announced herself as the winner.
Piper’s debut on RAW had been rumoured before the June 14th episode of RAW. Fightful had reported on their subscription service last week that there had been talks to bring Niven to the main roster. It should be noted that even though Piper has been an established name on the NXT UK roster, the commentary team did not claim to know who Niven was. Because of this, expect a new name to be given to the former NXT UK superstar in the coming weeks. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has tweeted a potential new name that has been pitched:
Features of Wrestling will report any confirmed changes when more is known. Moving forward, it appears that Piper will be acting as a bodyguard type figure for Eva Marie, and will be tackling most of the in-ring work. Niven is from Ayrshire, Scotland and has a well established in-ring career. Niven has won multiple championships for promotions such as ICW, Stardom and World of Sport.
