Meiko Satomura is the new NXT UK Women’s Champion. Satomura captured the title by defeating former champion Kay Lee Ray on the May 10th edition of NXT UK.
The victory by Meiko Satomura ends Kay Lee Ray’s historic NXT UK Title reign. Ray had held the championship for 649 days. Kay Lee Ray started her reign back in 2019, where she won the title at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff. Satomura captured the championship from Ray in the main event of the show, winning with the Scorpio Rising finisher. This victory makes Meiko Satomura only the 4th Women’s Champion in NXT UK history. Previous champions have been Rhea Ripley, Toni Storm and Kay Lee Ray.
Post match ‘The Final Boss’ Satomura celebrated with the title in the ring, along with red and yellow streamers filling the squared circle:
Traditionally, Triple H, who is the executive producer of NXT, poses with a new champion for social media. However, due to current restrictions, this has been unable to take place. Instead, Triple H posted the following message and modified photo on his social media to say congratulations:
