The Miz will be returning to WWE on Monday May 31st. The former WWE Champion has been announced for a segment for the upcoming episode of WWE RAW.
The segment in question is an episode of Miz TV. The A lister will welcome both Charlotte Flair and Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley to the show. Both Rhea and Charlotte will use this segment to promote their upcoming match at WWE’s next pay per event Hell in A Cell.
The announcement of The Miz is significant for 2 reasons. Firstly, at WrestleMania Backlash, Miz was attacked by a group of zombies. The undead were part of a Lumberjack match to promote the sponsor of the pay per view, Netflix’s film Army of the Dead. It will be interesting to see if there is any acknowledgement of this on Monday, as The Miz’s partner John Morrison was also attacked at WrestleMania Backlash. However, Morrison appeared the next night unscathed.
Secondly, reports came out after the Lumberjack match that The Miz had suffered an injury. Fightful had the following to say about the suspected injury and the severity of it:
Dave Meltzer reported that The Miz sustained an ACL injury at WrestleMania Backlash. When we spoke with talent and staff Tuesday morning, they said that watching the monitors during the match, they could tell something was wrong, but didn’t think it was as severe as a torn ACL and credited him for getting through the match. As seen on the show, there was a specific finish they were getting to, and Miz was applauded, figuratively, for making sure he got there despite serious injury. This is the first major injury of Miz’s career

The next few weeks of both physical appearances and interactions carried out by The Miz may help indicate the severity of the injuries.
